He's in office again, and I'm working hard on this new Act presentation. Somebody's gotta fix these fuckups.

He won. We have to face that. Now is our time to get up and begin taking matters into our own hands. If you feel that you can no longer rely on your neighbor to do justice for your country, then do it yourself. Write to your congressman, prepare speeches to educate future voters, or possibly even write new bills. You're not helping your country by complaining. Fight!

Do I know everything about the education system and the NCLB? This is an attack that I suffered many times during my English 201 class. I'll admit that I don't know everything about those two, but I will assume that I know more than any average person who throws these wild figures toward me. The argument that I've been approached with is "Kerry doesn't have a better plan." Well well now, I suppose we can all sleep in comfort tonight. The fact of the matter is I made a vast, grade-A paper about the NCLB Act my life for a few months. Did anyone else? No? Okay then. Shut up for a moment and stop with the liberal this and liberal that. Patrick Breeden is speaking to you. On paper, the Act is A-class material. In reality, it never got the funding it needed, it began to cut into many programs that were never intended to be cut, it counted towards all students--even if they were mentally inable, dead, out of state, in prison, in a psycho ward, or simply dropped out. This sounded bad to me from point one, so I took a trip to St. Albans High School just to see if things were as bad as I imagined. I quickly found out through SAHS Principal Tom Williams that things were a god damned mess. The school was nearly under an academic arrest, other counties weren't even aware that they too were near punishment for their poor scores, most counties didn't even understand NCLB and were running things like a cage full of idiots, and the students had no damned clue what was going on. I could continue in detail, but that's what my paper was for. Tom Williams approves my message, and I approve anyone who has alternate suggestions rather than someone who believes that he is doing something to benefit the future. This Mick doesn't play nice. :)
